    Global Quality Data Steward

    Main Purpose –

    To implement Data Insights and governance, by creating and maintaining data visualizations, metadata ensuring data quality, data availability and appropriate documentation. Works closely across SMO (Subject Matter Organization), regional organization, corporate teams, and 3rd parties to identify data needs (current and future) and with IT to enable data readiness within defined systems.

    Focus areas: Deep understanding of existing data sources, data models and related systems in Crop Science Product Supply Quality and independently scanning and assessing business stimulus for new data sources for sustainability in addressing requirements.

    Key Tasks & Responsibilities –

    • Responsible for building & maintaining, interactive dashboards using leading visualization technologies(Tableau/Spotfire/PowerBI) for Business Insights. Lead business analysis, collect business requirements and translate them into BI Solutions leveraging best practices
    • Required to work on a wide portfolio of visualization projects, supporting multiple business partners.
    • Develop database-driven solutions using SQL/non-SQL to ETL and manipulate data to be used for business insights reporting and analytics. Tasks may also include optimizing database performance, analyzing queries, and resolving problems.
    • Ensure data quality for critical elements in the Product Supply Quality data domain. Includes supporting and aligning key meta information (ex. definitions, rules/governance, data models), identifying owners, and project requirement facilitation.
    • Develop and deploy capabilities for data quality metrics to support the enablement of digital strategy and inclusion of key data. Support establishing goals, monitoring, scorecards, and improvement plans.
    • Responsible for automating data movement, data validations, data quality and data governance activities.
    • Responsible for regular evaluation of digital development, implication on the Quality data management, data technology implications, improvements and more.
    • Contribute as a key resource in the data digitization strategy for Global Quality. Work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders to refine the data landscape, defining resource needs, and benefits.
    • Support organizational awareness and training to raise the data business acumen for the Product Supply Quality organization.
    • Influence and support product supply data stewardship COE organizations by domain area to ensure partnership with our regional/functional stakeholders.
    • Analyse data and identify risk areas (regional level implications) and recommend solutions for stakeholders within and across all functions of R&D, Product Supply and commercial that consume Quality Data Sets.

    Qualifications & Competencies –

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (computer science, engineering, or agriculture).
    • 5-7 years of experience supporting data visualization and Insights, data governance and data quality programs is desired.
    • Knowledge of Bayer ERP, data domains, and business use cases.
    • Experience working with referential data, data catalogues and relational database modelling concepts
    • Experience in data wrangling with SQL and/or NoSQL databases is required. Data processing technology (like Oracle, Redshift, Python, and/or Snowflake) is desired.
    • Experience working with data management and visualization tools like Tableau. Spotfire, PowerBi required.
    • Experience profiling data, summarizing, and reporting data quality metrics.
    • Understanding and experience of working with different enterprise-wide data sets including master data (product, customer etc.) and transactional data (sales, CRM data etc.); and systems that maintain these data sets;
    • Experience with modern data engineering technologies and principles to manage data using APIs and Cloud technologies.
    • Fluent in English (spoken and written) & strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to coach, demonstrate, and lead data management best practices at all levels of the organization.
    • Good presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to people from other fields
    • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects, be highly organized able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a cross-functional team
    • Be a self-motivated and proactive
    • Ability to collaborate across diverse organizational and global stakeholder groups.
